English Sparkling: Davenport
As you can possibly tell.. I'm enjoying the world of bubbles right now, in particular exploring a few of the smaller English Sparkling wines on offer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Enter, Davenport's Limney Estate 2015 vintage. A traditional champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Munier, that us English produce so well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The 2015 edition spent over 4 years on the lees (after the second fermentation, when CO2 is produced, the dead yeast breaks down and are what gives these wines their biscuity, briochy notes), and has developed a rich complexity complimenting the crunchy fruit flavour of red apple. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nearly 20 years organically certified, these guys know what they are doing, producing a range of fully organic wines. all with the help of their dog Marvin, who guards the vines and protects the winery. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I bought my bottle(s) direct from Davenport themselves but I've seen this vintage in plenty of independents. Price ranges, but approx £27.
