Rosé for Winter?

This summer I had a bit of a love affair with rosé. Straight, on the rocks, spritz, frozé, fizzy - you name it, I had it. If it wasn't pink I wasn't interested.

Maybe an exaggeration but still my pink hued drink game was strong. But this time, unlike other years where I may only dabble in pink on a sunny Wednesday, I'm proud to say I'm going to carry the Rosé baton well into the winter months.

Rosé doesn't have to be sweet candyfloss and strawberry laces (unless you want it to be), it can be refined, delicate, dry and savoury.

Below are a few of my top picks of Rosé wines to take you through from Summer to Autumn:

Love by Leoube

A dry Provence style rosé, lots of red fruits complemented by fleshy peach and stone fruit. A great aperitif to loosen up before a big meal. I bought mine from Daylesford farm, which in itself is a great little slice of the cotswolds.

Rosa de Azafran Rosé

I bought this one from Sainsburys, more so for it’s super appealing bottle (which I then re-used for a vase). This wine is made from Spanish Tempranillo grapes, and offers flavours of red currant, red fruit and finished with dry floral characteristics. Pretty damn tasty with all kinds of tapas.

Born Rosé

Ok this has been a summer staple for me, but I’m bringing it into Autumn. I love how easy drinking this is, with soft peach flavours and a citrusy sharpness of grapefruit, this wine has always been something that I’ve enjoyed. Again, available from Sainsburys.
