Wine Comparison

Taking in the last of the summer ☀️☀️ with a 'comparisons' wine tasting

A beautiful day, and a tasting set up in a clients garden meant that 6 of us could meet to compare and contrast wines.

For this tasting, I wanted to show the group that just because it says 'Pinot Noir' or 'Sauvignon Blanc' on the label doesn't always mean it tastes the same. Contrasting wine back to back is a great experience to be able to taste what affect the region, sunlight, soil, water, weather conditions, winemaking styles, harvest times etc all actually have on the end product.

I then threw in 2 wild cards that I just knew would go down well. An easy drinking Viognier and a Spanish Garnacha / Syrah blend.

The tasting menu:
🥂Devils Creek Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
🌱Domaine de la Baume La Grande Olivette Piquepoul -Sauvignon
🍇Chalk Bay, Nelson, Pinot Noir
🍷Incanta, Romania, Pinot Noir
🏏Men in White Coats, Viognier
🇪🇸DarDell Organic Garnacha - Syrah
