Garden of Italy

I have always been a great lover of Italian wine. The history, the romance, the story..the taste! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is why it gives me great pleasure to announce that last Friday I partnered with The Garden Of Italy to deliver a virtual wine tasting with a select few members of their wine club. Together we tried two of their best sellers; Pinó and Vese.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Starting with the Pinó we discovered what a warm sunsoaked vinyard in Emilia Romagna does to the versatile Pinot Grigio grape, producing characteristics of lemon, yellow apple and melon. An oiliness to the palate made it fabulous with our food, in particular softer cheeses and olives. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We then moved onto the fresh Sangiovese; Vese. A fruit forward style that's been fermented in stainless steel leaving fresh, crisp notes on the nose and palette. Strawberry, cherry, plum with suitably high alcohol and tannin. Sangiovese is the wine for food but this worked exceedingly well with roasted tomatoes and harder cheeses.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Both delicious, and both available by the case on The Garden of Italy website.
