Grape Invaders

As with a traditional Cahors this is a beautiful French Malbec. A modern, fresh take with a fun label which certainly has shelf appeal. After spending time fermenting in Concrete this wine gets finished in french oak for a few months which gives it the famous Cahors depth, but without becoming overpowering. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A wine full of 'mediums' (medium body, medium alcohol and medium acidity) balanced with lighter tannin, means that this can be paired with a wider variety of food. I went tapas with this one, charcuterie, cheese, chicken pâté a variety of chutneys and some roasted Mediterranean vegetables. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Wines like this I class under the 'sophisticated crowd pleaser' - a label that invites conversation and a wine that champions food all with an invigorating fresh take on a classic. You're going to be hard pressed to find someone around the table who won't drink it.

I bought mine for £22.50 from Twisted Cellars.
