Rioja Blanco

Rioja Blanco

I sometimes wonder what pets think of us..no more so than after I spent 10 minutes crawling on the floor chasing the cat with an empty wine bottle. Effort, probably not well spent as really the star of the show is the wine. Not Miso.

This is a Rioja Blanco. A clean, crisp easy drinking white. Melon, pear and peach. I like to have wines like this in the fridge ready to go - meaning: good with food. I drank this alongside a tapas style meal, lots of little dishes ranging from garlic mushrooms through to spicy chiorizo and meatballs. Went down a treat.

Rioja blanco is still made in the Rioja region of Spain, but it's made entirely from white grapes. This one is predominantly Viura, with a touch of Tempranillo blanco - a mutation of the red grape Tempranillo (clever naming system huh).

I bought this from Twisted Cellar , who do nation wide next day delivery, for under £10.
