Birichino - Zinfandel

2.png

This Birichino Californian Zinfandel is a great example of a well rounded Zin. Bold, ripe red cherry, strawberry and sweet tobacco. Smooth, warming alcohol, delicious. Made from old vines, planted in 1922 on the edge of The Santa Cruz Mountains. These vines sound as if they lead an idyllic life - happy vines make happy wines.

Isn’t that label just so fun as well, after a few drinks I ended up colouring it in!

I had some of this with Christmas pudding (yes in Januray - don't judge me), and vanilla ice cream - not a classic pairing but man was it good comfort food!

This retails above the £20 mark, and although I can't find this exact bottle in store at time of writing, Birichino have a few varieities in Majestic 🙌
