Your guide to the most loved Sparkling Wines
You know I like a guide - so here's yours for the most well known sparkling wine types, each in 3(ish) sentences. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Prosecco: Glera grape, made in stainless steel tanks to retain fruityness and freshness. High acidity, bubbly, easy drinking. Reserva offers more complexity due to ageing. Green apple & pear drops. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Champagne: Can be a blend, or single varietal of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Munier. Aged in bottles on the lees offering complexity. Green apple, strawberry, biscuits & brioche.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Cava: Made from a blend of grapes, including indigenous Spanish grapes such as Xarel.lo, Macabeo & Parellada. Made in the same was as Champagne. Think fine bubbles, citrus and stone fruit, maybe even nuts or floral notes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are more; Cremant, English sparkling, Pet Nat etc but these are the only ones I could do short and sharp, without sounding completely like Yoda. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In the photo is a bottle of Cava from Co-Op, for £6.99 it's a bargain.
